We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the industry.

Company History

The founder of Pet Adoption Services, Constance Schei, has more than 10 years experience in animal rescue, working in and with various animal shelters and rescue organizations.  This experience brought to her attention a great need which was not being met through existing businesses and organizations.

Day after day she would meet pet owners who were sincerely distraught at having to surrender their beloved pets to an animal shelter for any number of reasons.  They felt they had no other option considering their given situations. Ms. Schei saw that puppies and kittens specifically, became sick due to the conditions of living in a shelter environment and there didn't seem to be anything in place that was effective in controlling this problem. It appeared to simply be a fact that puppies and kittens in shelters did not fair well and often ended up being euthanized.  Sad as it was, this seemed to be "just the way it was".

For Ms. Schei, this was not good enough.  She believed there had to be another way.  During her experience working in an animal shelter she began utilizing Petfinder.com and working with rescue organizations. Through her efforts the monthly adoption numbers were raised by over 100% in a few months time.  This was a huge help in getting the pets out of the shelter and into loving homes, but the health issues of shelter animals remained as did the pet owners who would stand at the desk crying as they surrendered their pet knowing they were truly taking a life or death gamble with that pets life.  Something still had to change.

Ms. Schei thought "What if someone did all the things shelters do to find homes for pets... only do those things while the pets where still in loving family homes instead of a kennel/shelter facility?"  The pets would not be exposed to hundreds of other animals and all the possible disease that brings.  They would not have the stress brought on by being thrust into a kennel facility with many strange animals and people.  Instead they could be taken into a loving home with people who would truly care for and about them.

Pet Adoption Services was born.  Ms. Schei took all of her knowledge and experience with pet rescue and animal shelters and has put that to work to find homes for pets WITHOUT them ending up in shelters.  She prides herself in working with each pet owner individually and in matching the right pet with the right new foster family and eventually the perfect adoptive family.  She is compassionate and truly cares about each pet owner and pet she is able to help.  This is why Pet Adoption Services will become the choice of pet owners looking for options and hope when faced with having to find a new home for their beloved pets.

Jake's new Family

Little Jake was a ball of fuzz and energy.  Poor little guy went through 3 homes!  Thankfully we were able to match him up with a great family who wouldn't trade him for the world.

" I just wanted to let you know that Jake is even better than you could have ever described.  He is loving and gets along great with our other two dogs – just follows everyone around and plays and is the happiest guy ever.  I can’t thank you enough for all your efforts and the job you do.  With out you, we never would have found Jake.

Thanks very much,

 Judith"
